Welcome to the Plymouth Parks & Recreation Adult Co-Ed Slow Pitch Softball League!
We are excited to bring adult softball back to Plymouth and ask you to be flexible and patient as we embark on this new program.
Games will be held on Monday evenings starting at 7:00 PM, from September 23, 2019 to October 28, 2019, at Ososki Field (softball field behind Main Street School, 77 Main Street, Terryville, CT).  This is a lighted field, for play to continue after dark.
The Plymouth P&R Department and the League Coordinator reserve the right to rule on any matter not expressly covered by the rules listed below or USA (fka ASA) Softball Rules.

  • All players must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

  • Players do not need to be a resident of the Town of Plymouth.

  • Teams must have a minimum of 10 registered players.

  • If a registered player would like someone not registered to substitute for them at a game, this is permitted as long as the coordinator (Chris Griffin) is notified for whom they are a substitute.

  • A coin toss will determine the home and away teams.

  • There must be at least 2 females per team playing in each game.

  • Team rosters must be emailed to ParksandRec@plymouthct.us by September 18th; any player registered without a team will be assigned to a team.

  • Plymouth Parks & Recreation will provide one umpire per game.

  • Game softballs will be provided by Plymouth Parks & Recreation and must be the only softballs used.

  • Players must provide their own gloves and bats.

  • Only USA/ASA Softball approved wooden softball bats may be used.

  • Games will last seven innings (six and one half if the home team is ahead) or 50 minutes, whichever occurs first.  No new inning may begin after the 50-minute mark has been reached.

  • Each team must designate a scorekeeper.

  • If a team fails to appear at the scheduled start time, the team ready to play may choose to give the opponent up to ten (10) minutes to obtain the necessary number of players.  If neither team appears at game time, a ten minute grace period will automatically be given.  The game time is reduced by whatever portion of the ten minutes was used to avoid a forfeit.

  • In the case of rain, or other occurrences, a game will become official after the completion of four innings.  If less than a legal game has been completed, the game shall be suspended at this point.  The decision to continue or stop the game will be made by the softball coordinator.

  • If inclement weather necessitates the cancellation of an entire game, this will be posted on the P&R Facebook page.  Canceled or incomplete games may be reschedule on a Sunday, at the discretion of Plymouth Parks & Recreation.

  • Alcohol and tobacco are not permitted at Ososki Field and the surrounding park area.

  • Players are expected to use appropriate language and in no way disrupt the surrounding residents.

  • All rules are subject to change.
